I know a private landlord who was told he could not use realty in his email address since he is not a Realtor.

His email address is parealtyguy.com. Is it true that he cannot use realty in his email address according to PA state laws.

Every state is different, but I've never heard a restriction based on the term "realty". It is, however, trademark violation to use the term "Realtor" in one's domain name at all. An exception (for member Realtors only) would be to use it in conjuction with one's own name. For example, I could NOT use TheRealtorForYou.com, but it would be perfectly fine to use RealtorJudiBryan.com because I am a member Realtor.

Perhaps whoever gave him the information confused using the term "realty" with the term "Realtor".
