age-life method of depreciation
Related Terminology: INVOLUNTARY LIEN

a technique of estimating all forms of depreciation (appraisal) sustained by an asset. It is based on the effective age of the property or component, divided by the total economic life of the property or component.

Example The roof of an apartment building is effectively 10 years old and has a total economic life of 25 years. It is 10/25 depreciated (40%) based on the age-life method of depreciation.
